Letter to Michael...

Most people in this area know that Michael Jordon just bought the Charlotte Bobcats. This past Sunday he wrote an open letter to the city of Charlotte saying he will be a different leader and he is ready to listen to the public. I took it upon myself to write Michael a letter asking for his support and you can read it below. It's pretty funny because I had to play investigator for a while. You can't just write Michael Jordan a letter, send it to the arena and have him get it. Too many aides. I knew I had to hunt down the best place I could reach him and only got that after getting a great inside tip from one of the local reporters.

Mr. Jordan,

In your open letter to the Charlotte community you indicated that you were willing to listen, so here is my pitch;

My dad is a 78 year old Korean War Veteran & for the last few years he has been building an initiative to help Veterans. He is asking Congress to start selling (to the general public) a commemorative coin, postage stamps and treasury bonds that will Honor the Tomb of the Unknowns. All the proceeds generated would be given to organizations helping Veterans.

So far, over 84 local towns in North Carolina have adopted his project with formal resolutions of support, along with a few cities in Virginia and Pittsburg, PA. He has the individual signatures of about 35,000 people from a petition drive and The North Carolina Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars have indicated in writing they support the project.

Our Congressional Representative is working with us right now to adopt actual legislation for his project that will provide millions of dollars in additional funding to our Veterans without increasing taxes or the national debt.

He needs a corporate voice, not a financial sponsor to help him make this project a reality. I realize you just spent $275 million in a recession so I wouldn’t come asking for your cash. Your voice alone in support for this project would show our community you care as well as help you gain a loyal following across the world from our Nation’s finest men and women.

I would love to present this project documentation to you in person, but in the interest of time you can get up to speed by visiting our website: www.veteranspetition.com.Watch the 4 minute video in the right hand column from the Charlotte City Council meeting.

Thank you for taking your time to consider this project. If you would like to speak with me confidentially about this at anytime please use my direct number below.

Regards,

Chuck Denny

What do you think, will he call?

  1. Probably not unless he knows a veteran or has one in his family

  2. Sending prayers that he does!

    As a leader of an all girl troop that supports our military, we'd loved to be involved in promoting, selling, even purchasing the coins. Please contact me for any help you may need.
